Inaugural Chris Miller Prowler Alumni Game

On Wednesday, December 20th, 2006, Prowler Hockey held it's first ever Chris Miller Prowler Hockey Alumni Game. With the varsity team sitting in 1st place in the GCHSCHL at the holiday break, they were challenged by an alumni team that featured some of the best players ever to wear a Prowler jersey. The alumni team's numbers were impressive with 11 former captains, 16 former Blue Jacket Cup Champions and 13 of the top 30 All-Time scorers. That included the top three point producers of all time in T.J. Hess, Nick Hess and Jimmy Betts, as well as the number one points per game player in Bryan Kay (see more alumni player information below). In total, 23 alumni came out to participate in the event.

The Alumni team marched out to an impressive 3-0 lead over the first half of the game in front of some spectacular goaltending by J.R. Gray (2001-2002). The current team took advantage of the Alumni's "old legs" in the second half of the game coming back to take a 5-3 lead in the third period. The Alumni scored a late goal to bring the game within one at 5-4, but the current varsity team prevailed adding an empty net goal in the final seconds to cap the scoring at 6-4 and take the victory in the inaugural Chris Miller Prowler Alumni Game.

There was a great fan turnout for the game with many friends and family members in attendance lining the glass. Afterwards, the players took a Prowler Hockey photo in front of the goal, then enjoyed some time mingling with past teammates and getting to know the past and present of Prowler Hockey. The event was a fun time for all and players are already beginning to discuss "next year's game". Thanks to all of the Prowler Alumni who came out to participate.
