Game Recap
PRPC away versus the Northeast Storm
1st MEETING WITH THE STORM
This game brought out the Prowler's toughest challenge of the season. Themselves. After a few penalties early in the period by both teams, PRPC was the first to turn on the lamp with a power play goal by Junior Alternate Captain Mike Miller (assisted by Junior Matt Schuh and Freshman Nick Hess). Northeast then got on the board with 2:19 left in the period on a goal by Zach Tisdale. The second period saw little action on the score sheet, with no penalties and no scoring. Sophomore goalie Jesse Betts had a brief scare when a shot wasn't controlled and got through the goalkeeper, but he was able to make a diving stop before the puck crossed the goal line with 2:33 left in the period. That near goal sparked the Prowlers for the final period. The team responded with a sense of urgency. The hitting picked up by both teams, but the Prowlers got the better of the Storm, scoring the game winning goal with 5:24 left in the game, off of the stick of Sophomore Nick Miller (assisted by Mike Miller and Schuh). Northeast pulled their goalie in an attempt for a late goal, with Freshman Brian Rossi in the box for the last minute and 21 seconds for tripping, but Betts and the Prowlers held on for the victory and remained undefeated and in 1st place going into the league's Thanksgiving break. |
