2003-2004 Season Preview NEW SEASON, NEW LOOKThe PRPC Ice Prowlers begin the defense of their GCHSCHL Blue Jacket's Cup League Championship. And with that, all teams in the GCHSCHL will be looking to gun down last seasons champs. All while the team looks to re-tool from last season. The Ice Prowlers lost 9 players from last season (7 seniors) and have some major holes to fill on the blueline where they lost 4 defensmen. The defense returns Alternate Captain Senior Josh Martyn, Junior Matt Schuh and Sophomore Jeff Laird, while adding Senior Mike Westling and Freshmen Brian Rossi and Loren Chrisman. Starting goalie Sophomore Jesse Betts returns this season and is joined by Senior transfer Zach Ahern. At forward, the loss of last year's leading scorer Junior Ryan Markell to the Junior B Columbus Stars, will be picked up by 5 year starter (he started with PRPC as an 8th grader) and team Captain, Senior T.J. Hess. Hess is joined by returning players, Juniors, Alternate Captain Mike Miller, Anthony Kantor, Eric Weinhold and Eric Willard, Sophomores Ben French and Nick Miller, and newcomers, Senior Matt Macciomei, Junior transfer Bryan Kay and Freshman Nick Hess. Head Coach Marty Laroche returns for his second season behind the bench for the Ice Prowlers. He brings back with him, Assistant/Goaltending Coach Jay C. Catherine. Good luck to this year's Ice Prowlers as they begin their quest for back-to-back Blue Jacket's Cup Championships. |
