...LOSE 4-3 IN TRIPLE OT IN CUP FINALE
After finishing first place in the GCHSCHL's regular season (21-3-0), the Prowlers received a first round bye in the Blue Jackets Cup GCHSCHL Championship Tournament. In the second round, they shutout the Olentangy Braves (#4, 10-3-1) 4-0 on Friday (2/18). The Prowlers then lost a tough game 3-1 to arch-rival Westerville (#2, 18-3-2) Saturday (2/19) in the semi-finals. After dropping into the loser's bracket they defeated Olentangy again 4-2 Sunday morning (2/20) to go on for a rematch with Westerville in the Blue Jackets Cup Finals Sunday evening. PROWLERS DROP 1st BUCKEYE CUP GAME 1-0...BEAT MOONEY/URSULINE 9-0
The Prowlers finished their regular season 21-3-0 and in first place in the GCHSCHL. With that, they gained the GCHSCHL's number one seed in the inaugural Buckeye Cup State Championship. The team battled the Westerville Warcats to triple overtime before conceding the 2005 Blue Jackets Cup GCHSCHL Championship. They were hoping for redemption by challenging for the inaugural Buckeye Cup State Championship but didn't get the start they wanted falling 1-0 to the eventual Buckeye Cup Champions, the Medina Bees (NCHSHL), in their first preliminary round game. The Prowlers fell behind in the tournament point standings and couldn't recover. The team did redeem themselves and finished the season off with a 9-0 win over the Mooney/Ursuline Thunder (NCHSHL) in their final preliminary game, but finished the tournament with only six points and an early exit. The Prowlers congratulate the 2005 Buckeye Cup State Champion Medina Bees (NCHSHL) for a job well done.
